This was linked on Connie's lj... and quite frankly, I am positively disgusted... and the really sad thing is that the story didn't shock me. All I got was a miserably disheartening feeling.
But you all should read it. Because the press won't print it.

Right. If someone randomly IMs you saying that your friends-locked entries are being posted at yourljusername.nimp.org/whatever or something to that effect, don't open the link. The url leads to a default browser window of revolving random porn and other undesirable images but is apparently scripted to not only jump around your desktop so you can't close the damned thing but also to start a repeated command for your email client so that if you try to end the process using your task manager, you can't get to it for all the email processes popping up. I finally got rid of it by ending the task under applications.
Whether or not this was just some prank played on me by people personally out to get me or a new group of random jerks with far too much time on their hands targeting friends-locked lj users, I have no idea. Just thought I'd get that out there. Because that's just plain mean.

Hello and welcome to RARA X AVIS. Rara avis means "rare bird" in Latin. This phrase not only parallels my own personality and relations with the rest of the world, but also that of my favorite animal: the penguin. The one in the header up there is named Orestes, Oreo for short. He is relatively excitable and runs around in my head quite a bit. Sometime in the near future, I would like to start a webcomic centered around him, his friends, and lame philsophy jokes. When I finally accomplish that, I'll link it here. For the time being, this will be his home. "This" is my livejournal. My name is Catherine, Cat for short.
